Time: 7.00pm for 7.30pm

Saddleworth WI’s contribution to our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
An evening of food, fizz and fun!
There will be games, competition, a Royal quiz and singing. Dress up if you wish, garden party style or in red white and blue.

Visitors (i.e. non members) attending the Jubilee Jamboree, will be asked to pay a £5 contribution towards the refreshments in addition to the usual £3 visitor’s fee.

Time: 7.00pm – 10.00pm
Cost: £15 includes a glass of wine on arrival and food tastings

With over 120 wines from around the globe. Try fantastic wines from around the world and learn from the experts.


Date: Tuesday 26th July 2022
Trip includes coach from Uppermill and return 4 hour cruise (see itinerary below) and lunch
Cost: £35 (approx to be confirmed)
£10 deposit required now by BACS or cash at the May members meeting. Balance by July meeting

Boarding commences at 11:30 when you will be seated and drinks served to your table.

At 12 o’clock we set sail from Castlefield when your meal’s first course is served and the captain starts his live commentary, giving interesting and historical facts about the canals and landmarks along the route.

Then we arrive at Pomona Lock and the boat is lowered onto the Manchester Ship Canal where we cruise to Salford Quays and the upper reaches of the canal whilst you enjoy the main course.

We then moor up at Salford Quays, under The Lowry Footbridge, where guests disembark for an hour and a half to explore the Quays.

You can visit The Lowry Theatre and Galleries, The Lowry Outlet Mall, The Imperial War Museum – North, or perhaps take a stroll around Media City UK – the home of the BBC in the North.

At 3 o’clock we set sail for the return journey to Castlefield, again via Pomona Lock. With background music playing you can then enjoy the homemade dessert followed by tea and coffee.

Arrival back at Castlefield is at 4 o’clock where your coach will be waiting.

Early Bird tickets have now been purchased for those who booked them.

However there are 6 seats available on the coach should anyone decide to come along and buy a ticket on the gate at £27. Coach seats reserved on a first come basis please email

They were just four guys from Jersey, until they sang their very first note. They had a sound nobody had ever heard … and the radio just couldn’t get enough of.  But while their harmonies were perfect on stage, off stage it was a very different story. Go behind the music and inside the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The show features all their hits including SherryBig Girls Don’t CryOh What A Night, Walk Like A Man, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Working My Way Back To You.

Cost: House visit £26 per person (optional). Coach cost to be confirmed, approx £13
Time: Coach to leave Uppermill at 9.30am and to leave Chatsworth at 4pm / 4.30pm (to be confirmed)

Deposit of £15 for coach and House visit or £5 for coach only due by 15th June. We will confirm coach cost ASAP and balance will be due by 5th October.

Trip to beautiful Chatsworth House and estate plus the wonderful Christmas Markets.

The Walking Group have an hour and a half walk around the estate planned for when we first arrive. If you want to join the walk but are not part of the Walking Group please let us know and we can add you to their list.

Our slot for the House visit is 2.15pm This gives plenty of time to visit the market stalls and have some lunch.
